Unlock Your Story:
A Multi-Class Writing Workshop for Aspiring Novelists

Have you ever wanted to write a novel but found yourself overwhelmed by the blank page? Do you have book ideas simmering within you and aren't sure where to start? If you're a writer with big dreams and a passion for storytelling, this is the class for you! Here you'll have space to nail down your idea, outline your novel, and begin your first draft. From concept to characters to shaping your plot in its entirety, you'll leave this workshop with a fully formed plan and a running start on your new novel that you can continue working on in the months to come.

This is a remote class running Monday, June 10 through Friday June 28. Writers can expect two weekly lectures posted to our forum Moodle on Mondays, as well as related short prompts or writing exercises Tuesdays through Fridays.

We will be hosting weekly Zoom sessions to give space for group writes, Q&A, and working on prompts and novel drafts. These sessions run Wednesdays (6/12, 6/19, and 6/26) from 6pm-7:30pm. Additionally, we will have weekly Open Mics where students can share work and give feedback on Fridays (6/14, 6/21, and 6/28) from 6pm-7:30pm.

Teachers can purchase up to 1 unit from SJSU for an additional $150.
