The San Jose Area Writing Project
Presents:
Young Writer's Camp!
July 28th–August 1st

Give your child a jump–start on school in July.
- Does your child love to read?
- Does he show an uncanny ability to notice things?
- Does she tell you she loves to write and wants to be an author someday?
- Could your child use a boost in his writing confidence?
What kind of instruction will students have
over the course
of the week?
-
Analyze model texts for exemplary structure and expression. - Learn from teacher modeling of effective writing strategies.
- Receive individualized and small–group instruction.
- Write in a friendly and supportive community of writers.
- Receive helpful peer responses in small groups.
- Edit and publish their writing.
- Have fun and make new friends!

This summer, the SJAWP will again gather our
top teachers
from the South Bay to teach our 2nd annual Young Writer's Camp.
Students entering grades 2–6 will be grouped in small classes to facilitate individualized support and instruction. They'll experience writing in various genres, make books, and learn important grammar and editing skills. Classes are California standards–based and will support student writing on the 4th and 7th grade STAR Writing Assessments.
